The working principle of gravity placement is simple and cost-effective, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including sorting, packaging, and product conveyance. In the pharmaceutical industry, gravity placement can be used for tasks like filling bottles or vials, guiding materials into packaging, and sorting pharmaceutical products based on specific characteristics. It is particularly valuable for applications where minimizing energy consumption and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards are essential.
The core of gravity placement relies on the use of inclined surfaces, such as chutes, ramps, or conveyor belts. These surfaces are set at a specific angle or slope. Objects to be placed or moved are initially positioned at a higher elevation on or near the top of the inclined surface. Gravity will naturally pull these objects downward along the slope. The force of gravity, which pulls all objects toward the Earth’s center, is what drives the motion. As the objects are released or guided onto the inclined surface, they begin to move under the influence of gravity.
